At a guess the heavy rain from the weekend made some of the courts unplayable in the morning. A revised OOP was posted on the LTA website earlier in the day.

I've never heard of her 1st rd opponent, but she does appear to be number 75 in the world!

According to our local TV news, the original announcement that this is the last year for this tournament to be played at Birmingham may have been a little premature as they are still in talks with the hope that it may be held here again next year.
